Topics Covered: This course will review new advances in the treatment, early detection and prevention of esophageal, stomach, colorectal, pancreas, and neuroendocrine cancers. It also includes an update on translational science related to these cancers. The program focuses on clinical management and issues facing medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and endoscopists. The format will be comprised of four brief sessions, and each session will integrate case presentations by an interdisciplinary team of physicians highlighting diagnostic and treatment dilemmas faced in daily practice.
*Evaluate the latest advances in pathology, diagnositc and prognostic staging and interventions for colorectal, pancreatic and esophageal cancers. *Examine strategies to deliver personalized therapy and quality cancer care of patients with GI tumors. *Review the latest translational advances in GI oncology.
Who Should Attend: Medical Oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, endoscopists and pharmacists who are involved in treating gastrointestinal oncology patients. Space is available for residents, fellows, and medical students.
