AACR: Inhibition of DNA Repair in Colorectal Cancer Studied

Apr 19, 2014 - Patients with microsatellite instable colorectal cancer may respond to treatment with the investigational drug olaparib, which can block a DNA repair pathway in the cancer cells, resulting in accumulated DNA damage and tumor death, according to a briefing presented Nov. 18 at the American Association for Cancer Research -- National Cancer Institute -- European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer International Conference, "Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics," held from Nov. 15 to 19 in Boston.
