Launching of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month with guest James M. Metz, MD, Editor-in-Chief, Oncolink, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Metz will be sharing with our listeners a new book that has been published by OncoLink and Elsevier Saunders Publishers, called "Oncolink Patient Guide: Colorectal Cancer" as well as discuss other initiatives for Colorectal Cancer Awareness by Oncolink throughout the month of March.
On Sunday, March 14, 2004, The Group Room will host its annual broadcast focusing on advances in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer with guests Heinz-Josef Lenz, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine and Preventive Medicine, Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California, Scientific Director of Cancer Genetics, Co-Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Co-Director of the USC Colorectal Center at USC Norris and Ernestine Hambrick, MD, Founder and Chairman, STOP Colon/Rectal Cancer Foundation (www.coloncancerprevention.org). Dr. Hambrick participates in the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCT), whose mission is to reduce the incidence and mortality of colon/rectal cancer in the US and is a member of the NCCT Steering Committee, chairs the Nominating Committee and co-chaired its original By Laws Committee.
