Can you talk about emotions, energy blocks and how complementary therapies can help cancer patients?

Michael Baime, MD, Director, Penn Program for Mindfulness, responds:

We can hold painful or unpleasant memories and emotions in the body, and these emotions can create difficulty in our bodies and our minds. Although different complementary systems conceptualize this energy differently, many complementary therapies directly address the body's energy in ways that support healing. Reiki, acupuncture, yoga, exercise and meditation can all address the energy of the body in ways that restore balance and support health.
