Will my radiation tattoos wash off?

This is a great question. Radiation therapy tattoos are immediately permanent and cannot be washed off. Because they are permanent you can do all normal activities the same day you get your tattoos. This includes bathing, swimming, and relaxing in a hot tub.

Some treatment facilities do not use tattoos for your treatment marks. This may be done for a variety of reasons. Instead, they will use marker on the surface of your skin and place a tape-like material over the marker so that it does not wash off. In this instance, it is important to ask if there are restrictions on bathing, swimming, etc.
