My mother died from cancer when she was 45. As a breast cancer
veteran, I became frightened in the months preceding my 45th
birthday. I created this work to keep the evil cancer spirits away
while I was 45. I hung it immediately inside my front door and moved
cancer-free into my 46th birthday!
