Self-Care Series for Oncology Professionals: Session 1

Nursing Continuing Education Instructions

This continuing education activity is designed to enable the learner to understand the challenges of working in oncology and how they can maintain a healthy work-life balance.

This activity has been approved for 1.0 contact hour by the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Nursing Development and Education, an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the PA State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

To receive continuing education credits for this activity:

  • Watch the presentation in its entirety.
  • Click on the link at the end to go to the posttest and complete the test.
  • If you do not achieve a passing score, you will return to the test and be able to retake the posttest.
  • If you achieve a score of 80% or higher, you can proceed to the evaluation form.
  • Once you submit the evaluation, the CE certificate will pop up. Please print this for your records. You will also receive a copy by email.

The presenters and planning committee report no conflicts of interest.
This activity expires December 15, 2016.

Social Work Continuing Education Instructions

This continuing education activity is designed to enable the learner to understand the challenges of working in oncology and how they can maintain a healthy work-life balance.

The educational objectives of this activity are:

  • Review of terminology related to work-life balance for oncology professionals.
  • Discuss why work-life balance is harder to maintain during the holidays.
  • Describe strategies for self-care and work-life balance during the holidays.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Provider # 1105, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (www.aswb.org) through the Approved Continuing Education program. LLS maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers participating in this course will receive 1.0 CE clock hours. Licensed social workers should contact their individual jurisdictional board to review current continuing education requirements.
