Cancer Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach revised 4th edition
Authors: Richard Pazdur, William J. Hoskins, Lawrence Wagman, and Lawrence R. Coia OncoLink Rating: |
The revised 4th edition of Cancer Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach is an excellent reference for medical, radiation, and surgical oncology health care providers. The four editors are all distinguished physicians in each of their respective fields. They put together this handbook with the help of 110 contributors from 47 institutions across the United States. Many of them are well known in their specialties.
The book begins by covering the different conventional therapies, including surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. The majority of the book then discusses the different cancers. Each chapter is authored jointly by practicing medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists. Each of these chapters describes epidemiology, risk factors, pathology, staging and diagnosis. The focus is then on the therapeutic strategy with an emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach. The handbook includes sections on palliative and supportive care, treatment complications, as well as biostatistics in oncology.
This handbook is a very helpful reference guide to health care providers in the fields of medical, radiation, and surgical oncology. It is also an excellent reference for residents and fellows for their daily practice and Board Exams. OncoLink highly recommends this book.
